Terms of Service
1. Who we are
SoOon ("we", "us") is operated by Fingers Play Inc, registered in Quebec, Canada, at 6751A Boul St-Laurent, Montreal.
We have designated a Privacy Officer to oversee our compliance with Canadian privacy laws, including Quebec's Law 25. You may contact them at privacy@sooon.chat.
2. What SoOon is
SoOon is a private application for two people — a couple living apart. Each couple is given their own separate instance of the application at their own address (<name>.sooon.chat), with its own database. Couples do not share an instance and cannot see one another's instances.
The application includes messaging, photos, voice notes, voice and video calls, a shared calendar, shared lists, shared expenses, travel plans, music sharing, and an AI assistant called Puff.
3. You must be 18 or over
SoOon is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create or join an instance. If we learn that a user is under 18 we will close the instance.
4. Puff is an AI, not a person
Puff is an artificial intelligence. He is not a human being, not a counsellor, not a therapist, and not a medical, legal or financial professional.
- Puff will tell you he is an AI when you first meet him, and periodically thereafter.
- Nothing Puff says is professional advice of any kind.
- Puff can be wrong. He may state incorrect things confidently.
- Do not rely on Puff for anything that matters medically, legally or financially.
If you are in distress, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Puff can point you toward help but cannot provide it.
5. Both of you can see shared things
SoOon is built for two people who both know the other is there. By design:
- Messages, photos, voice notes, calls and shared cards are visible to both partners.
- Some things are private to one partner — a private line with Puff, and facts marked private. We make clear in the application which is which.
- We do not offer a hidden mode. SoOon is not built for surveillance of one partner by the other, nor for concealment.
You are each responsible for what you send. If you record or transcribe a conversation involving the other person, you are responsible for having their agreement, and recording consent law differs between jurisdictions.
6. Your content is yours
You keep all rights to what you write, photograph, record and upload. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service for you: to store it, transmit it between the two of you, back it up, and send it to the processors listed in the Privacy Policy so features work.
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell it. We do not advertise against it.
7. What you may not do
- Use SoOon if you are under 18.
- Use it to harass, threaten, stalk, coerce or abuse anyone, including your partner.
- Upload content that is unlawful, or that sexualises minors in any way.
- Attempt to access another couple's instance.
- Attempt to use Puff to produce material that is unlawful or that would harm someone.
- Resell or redistribute the service.
We may suspend or close an instance that breaches this section. Where a breach is serious — particularly anything involving a minor — we may act immediately and report it.
8. Paying for SoOon
The core is free. Messages, photos, voice notes, calls, and Puff replying when you speak to him are not charged for.
Optional cards are bought with credits on a monthly subscription. AI usage beyond the included allowance is sold as a separate prepaid monthly package.
- Prices are shown in the application before you buy, in US dollars.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- AI packages are prepaid, consumable, and non-refundable. They do not roll over between months. We will notify you when you have used 70% of a package.
- We do not automatically top up a consumed package.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Refunds. If something we did stopped the service working, contact us and we will put it right. Statutory rights are unaffected by anything in this section.
Where one partner cannot pay. Payment cards issued in some countries cannot be charged internationally. One partner may pay the whole bill; access never depends on the second partner's card.
9. Turning a card off, and closing your instance
Turning a paid card off locks it — it does not delete what is in it. The data waits until the card is opened again.
You may close your instance at any time from within the application. Closing deletes the couple's data as described in the Privacy Policy. Because an instance belongs to two people, we will tell the other partner before it is closed. By joining an instance, you acknowledge and consent that your partner has the right to initiate the closure of the shared instance, which will result in the deletion of all shared data within that instance.
10. Availability
We try to keep SoOon running and to keep your data safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change or withdraw features. If we make a change that materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you and offer a pro-rata refund of the unused portion.
11. Liability
Nothing here excludes liability we cannot lawfully exclude — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that: our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data beyond our obligation to maintain reasonable backups.
SoOon is not an emergency service. Do not rely on it to reach someone urgently.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give you notice in the application at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada, and the courts of Quebec have jurisdiction — without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country of residence.
